Ceiling to Floor: Why Papering Your Entire Powder Room is the Ultimate Design Move

The case for wrapping a powder room ceiling-to-floor in a single paper, and the technical notes that make the install land.

A powder room papered ceiling-to-floor is the single most-photographed move in residential wallcovering today. It works because it eliminates every visual edge that would otherwise interrupt the pattern.

    Why ceiling-to-floor specifically

Stopping the paper at the ceiling line creates a horizontal break that fights the pattern. Continuing the paper onto the ceiling removes that break and the room becomes one immersive surface.

    Pattern choice

Choose a pattern that reads correctly from any angle — there is no 'top' or 'bottom' when the paper wraps the ceiling. Scattered florals, repeated motifs, and all-over textures all work. Strong directional patterns don't.

    Installer notes

A ceiling-wrap powder room takes about 40% more labour than a wall-only install — budget accordingly. Confirm your installer has done a ceiling job before, ideally photographed.
