From dramatic botanicals and large-format murals to refined geometric patterns and heritage-inspired textures, the press has repeatedly highlighted the same idea that guides our showroom every day: wallpaper is no longer a finishing afterthought. It is a design element capable of setting the tone for an entire space.

In La Presse's 2019 article on the reinvention of wallpaper, Empire was included as part of the broader movement away from outdated assumptions about papered interiors. The article described the growing appeal of murals, accent walls, refined papers, and easier-to-remove materials. Anais Tenkerian, then identified as sales director at Empire Papier Peint in Montréal, noted that large designs and murals were returning as high-impact accent-wall choices.

In La Presse's 2021 article on nature-inspired walls, Empire contributed trend insight on oversized botanicals, landscapes, textured natural materials, and elegant Art Deco colourways. The article also included practical guidance from Anaïs Tenkerian on how to begin a room concept with the mural or wallpaper first, then coordinate the remaining finishes and accessories around it.

Clin d'œil's 2023 feature on a colourful family home designed by Karine Matte credited Empire Papiers Peints as the source for a geometric wallpaper used in the home's entry. The project demonstrates how wallpaper can create immediate character in a transitional space and introduce the design language of the entire home from the moment guests enter.
